Lyra legal

Privacy Policy

Effective and last updated: August 12, 2026

Plain-language summary: Lyra is designed to keep your podcast planning content on your device. The current version does not upload your projects, templates, account details, or purchase records to Lyra-operated servers. Some optional features are provided by Apple and are subject to Apple's privacy practices.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how Lyra ("Lyra," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the Lyra iOS application and related legal pages (collectively, the "Service").

By using the Service, you acknowledge the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Information handled by Lyra

Sign in with Apple information

When you choose Sign in with Apple, Lyra receives an Apple-specific user identifier and, if you elect to share them, your name and email address. Apple may provide your name and email only the first time you authorize Lyra. Lyra stores the information it receives locally on your device so that it can display your signed-in state and profile.

Content you create

Lyra stores the podcast-planning content you enter, including episode titles, ideas, formats, outlines, preparation notes, guest or participant details that you choose to enter, reusable templates, recording checklists, project status, and timestamps. This content is stored locally on your device.

Purchases and virtual coins

In-app purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Lyra locally stores your coin balance, product and transaction identifiers needed to prevent duplicate crediting, daily free-creation usage, and a local copy of the App Store receipt when available. We do not receive or store your full payment-card details.

Microphone and speech recognition

If you choose voice input, Lyra requests access to the microphone and Apple's speech-recognition service to convert spoken English into text. Audio is used only while voice input is active. Lyra does not save an audio recording. Apple may process audio and transcription data under its own terms and privacy policy, which may include server-based processing depending on your device and Apple service availability.

Tracking permission and advertising identifier

iOS may display Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission prompt. If you grant permission, Lyra can read the device advertising identifier while the app is running. The current version does not transmit that identifier to Lyra-operated servers, does not sell it, and does not use it to track you across apps or websites owned by other companies. You can change this permission at any time in iOS Settings.

Information you send to us

If you contact us by email, we receive the email address, message, attachments, and other information you choose to provide. Email correspondence is used to respond to you, provide support, protect the Service, and keep reasonable records of the request.

3. How information is used

Information handled by Lyra is used to:

  • provide sign-in, project planning, templates, voice input, purchases, and coin-balance features;
  • store and restore content on your device;
  • process and verify App Store transactions and prevent duplicate coin crediting;
  • respond to support, privacy, and legal requests;
  • maintain the safety, integrity, and reliability of the Service; and
  • comply with applicable law and enforce our User Agreement.

4. Storage and disclosure

The current version stores Lyra account details, projects, templates, coin information, and local receipt copies on your device. It does not upload that information to Lyra-operated servers.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Information may be handled by Apple when you use Apple-provided services, including Sign in with Apple, App Store purchases, speech recognition, microphone permissions, and App Tracking Transparency. Apple's handling is governed by its own agreements and privacy policy.

We may disclose information you send directly to us when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, protect rights and safety, investigate abuse, or complete a business transfer. Any successor would remain subject to this Policy for information covered by it unless you are notified otherwise.

5. Retention and deletion

Locally stored information generally remains on your device until you delete it, use Lyra's Delete Local Data feature, or uninstall the app. Signing out removes locally stored Sign in with Apple profile information, but your projects and templates remain on the device so you can use them again after signing in.

The Delete Local Data feature removes locally stored projects, preparation data, templates, account information, coin data, transaction identifiers, daily usage records, and Lyra's saved receipt copies from the device. Deleting local data cannot delete records independently maintained by Apple, such as App Store purchase history. You may manage Apple-held information through your Apple account and Apple's privacy tools.

Email correspondence may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to resolve the request, maintain business records, establish or defend legal claims, and meet legal obligations.

6. Your choices and rights

  • Local content: edit or delete individual projects and templates in Lyra, or use Delete Local Data to remove all Lyra data stored on the device.
  • Permissions: control microphone, speech recognition, and tracking permissions in iOS Settings.
  • Apple account data: manage Sign in with Apple and App Store records through your Apple account.
  • Privacy requests: contact us to ask about information that you sent directly to us. We may need to verify your request.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or withdrawal of consent, and to appeal or complain to a data-protection authority. These rights may be subject to legal exceptions. Because most Lyra data remains only on your device, we may not possess or be able to retrieve it.

7. Children's privacy

Lyra is not directed to children under 13, or under the minimum age required by local law to consent to use of the Service. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through Lyra-operated servers. If you believe a child has sent personal information directly to us, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

8. Security and international processing

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate to the nature of the information we handle. No device, transmission, or storage method is completely secure. Protect your device, passcode, Apple account, and backups from unauthorized access.

Apple services and email providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Their processing is governed by their own privacy practices and applicable safeguards.

9. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy to reflect changes to Lyra, our practices, or applicable law. We will post the revised Policy on this page and update the date above. If a change materially affects how we handle information, we will provide additional notice when required by law.
